Greetings and Welcome to the March 2021 Edition of the BBBA E-Newsletter
We have included information about upcoming events along with relative news as it affects our lives, our health and the building industry.
As always, we encourage you to visit the following websites for additional news and information:
Blair/Bedford Builders: www.blairbedfordbuilders.com
Pennsylvania Builders Association: www.pabuilders.org
National Association of Home Builders: www.nahb.org
News and Announcements:
Advertising space on our website is filling up quickly.....if you are interested, simply contact the office by phone or email and we will send you the form to fill out with the required information to be posted.
Still not sure? Visit our website: www.blairbedfordbuilders.com and click on an advertiser's logo and you will be directed to their website. So you see, you are getting a two-for-one return on your investment.
The cost is only $25.00 per month with a minimum 6-month commitment. We average over 400 hits per month on our website, and, as one advertiser said, "the cost of advertising on the BBBA website is the best bargain in town."
By now you should have received a copy of the 2021 Consumer's Guide to Building and Remodeling. This year's publication was mailed directly to you by Barash Media. If for some reason you have not received your copy, please call the office and we will see that you get one.
In past years we have included your 2021 renewal sticker for application to your membership certificate. Once we receive these stickers from the printer, we will send them directly to you.
As we posted in our February E-Newsletter, the Board of Directors voted to resume our membership meetings. March 2nd was our first meeting and the attendance was higher than the March 3rd meeting of 2020. We wish to thank those in attendance for adhering to the CDC and PA COVID-19 Guidelines.
Our next meeting is April 6th. We will send out a meeting invitation 7 - 10 days prior to the meeting for you to make your reservations. Please note: We ask that you reply to the email invitation as opposed to signing up on the website.
Ballot Questions on Limiting Emergency Declarations:
This spring voters will be asked if the state constitution should be amended to limit future emergency declarations to 21 days unless extensions are approved by the General Assembly. The ballot language for consideration by the voters is written in a way that shows the Wolf Administration wants these measures to fail. Of course he does, because the current system allows him to make his own rules and restrict, WE THE PEOPLE, as to how we live our lives and run our businesses. Contrary to how the questions read, the General Assembly will not be able to act unilaterally. They will have to work with the Executive Branch in order for policies to be passed. And that is the way the system should work...it's called bi-partisanship!
The people of the Commonwealth need to make themselves aware of how the ballot question will be worded so that WE THE PEOPLE have a say in how we run our lives. Information will be posted in newspapers and on TV newscasts.......so, stay tuned and be informed. We CANNOT allow one individual to shut down our businesses and tell us how to run our lives as happened for the better part of 2020.
