Headlines & Announcements:
Governor Signs PA Builder Legislation to Fix Building Code Adoption Process:
Governor Wolf signed House Bill 409 which is PBA's long-awaited reforms and updates to the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (PA UCC). Now known as Act 36 of 2017, this act revises the code review process for updating the UCC. Prior to this signing, the review process automatically took place to update the codes every 3-years.
Act 36 immediately halts the current review of the 2018 proposed code updates. It also requires the review of the 2012 and 2015 codes. This will allow a "catch-up" process on six years of codes that have not been adopted in Pennsylvania. (Keep in mind that we are currently building to the 2009 Building Codes.)
Habitat for Humanity Update:
The project is located at: 1814 - 1820 3rd Avenue, Altoona. Allen McManus of YBC is the overall project manager. Allen can be reached at: 814.329.1619. As always, Allen is looking for volunteers. You can volunteer as an individual or as a company for any time that you can donate. Please contact him if you can help. No need to be a skilled crafts-person - we always need cleanup work, insulators, painters, general laborers and other types of work.
Project Status: Interior mechanicals are completed and inspected; insulation and drywall work has begun.
The outside has been graded and gravel rear driveway installed.
Fax your PA ONE CALL Invoices to the BBBA office at: 814.693.9712 for payment. DO NOT pay direct. We will verify your membership status and forward to the PBA Office for payment. If you pay your invoice direct to the PA ONE CALL address - we will not be able to get reimbursement for you.

OSHA issues interim guidance for inspectors.
